A Master Bath Remodel - De Wilde - Final Pics

Last November I showed the before  pictures of a Major Bath Remodel. Then in December I gave a little update. Well here it is January and I finally have the pictures to post.  The beautiful home with the Master Suite Remodel, the space on the right is the area redone: 

We pared down the doors in area to just three, instead of the original ten! Come on in...

The stone work around the tub & in shower area is exquisite:  

A tough decision to make... soak in a luxurious tub or shower in the wonderful roomy shower!

 

Her new vanity is beautiful. The Client spent some time finding just the right mirrors and lighting to put the finishing touches on the space

She can now relax in her Master Suite and take a bit of time for herself and enjoy her lovely view!

An Update.... Designing a Craft Room

Just wanted to update you on the Craft Room for Amber

I borrowed Amber's Photo  since I visited with installer but failed to take pictures! Trim, side panels, & toe kick will be in tomorrow! Arie's is very meticulous... this project will be fabulous when complete! I'll be sure to take lots of photos tomorrow and then again when she starts filling the cabinets, it won't take long she has lots of fun stuff!

Master Suite needs a Redo!

When we built our home 16 years ago I loved everything about it! And while I still love our home it's a bit dated. I mean seriously Polished Brass is not the "Hot" finish it used to be, unfortunately it's what we chose. Yes, I have lots of Polished Brass light fixtures and hardware. 

   

 The Master Bedroom had the most lovely Laura Ashly wallpaper which was removed about 10 years ago and painted two shades of green... I know 10 years is a long time but it's was really a great green.  

And it went well with the "pale peachy-pink" tile in the Master Bath that we had chosen to go with the fabulously dated Laura Ashly wallpaper. 

I'm thinking about removing the wallpaper in the Bathroom, texturing and just painting it and the Master Bedroom. I'll also replace the polished brass light fixtures and hardware. I just haven't settled on the perfect color, but I'm thinking about a gray/plum or brown for the bedroom and white for bathroom. I welcome any thoughts you might have for color regarding walls or hardware finish. While I'd love to replace all the hardware it just isn't possible at this time.

I do hope to incorporate this wonderful painting Amber did for me while in school.
 

A Master Bath Remodel - Update

Back in November I shared a  Master Bath Remodel, and thinking that it would be done in a week I had no problem teasing you with the Tub area. However, it didn't get completed as planned as my builder was in a car accident. I wondered why he wasn't returning my calls, that's just not like him. I had taken a few pictures of the progress made so those will have to suffice for now. 

Walking into the Master Bath you can see we have removed a few doors. We also removed the closet, moving the wall over 2 feet giving the homeowner more room in the Master Bedroom.

Now instead of all the smaller doors leading into and in the area, you have only three! A door added out in the hall leading into the room, really created a Master Suite. The powder bath and small office were incorporated into this new space, giving the owner a bigger closet and a private toilet area. 

Now when you walk in instead of a chopped up area you have a really beautiful space.

The tub with walk-in shower will eliminate the need to clean any glass shower doors!

And don't you just love this shower?

  

The same tile used in the bath was used to surround the fireplace in the bedroom.   

I'm really excited to see this project completed! And when Arie gets to feeling better I will update this project again. It's not usually a car accident that holds up a job.

La Capitale... & The additional space!

Last year Pence NW remodeled a space for La Capitale  A wonderful casual French Brasserie! It opened November 2008.

 I must say this is one of my most favorite eating establishments in Salem.  The food, staff, atmosphere is all fabulous! If you haven't been there already be sure to try it out! There's something for everyone!

This last weekend was spent working on the new bar for the New Banquet Room, David has scheduled a party in there this coming week... so it had to get done!

A Master Bath Remodel - Before....

Last summer I took on Designing a Master Bath Suite originally built in 1991.  The home beautifully situated on eight acres of Christmas trees, needed an update. Arie DeWilde asked if I would help design this project and definitely I was up to the challenge.

Originally leading into the Master Suite were two small doors:

And if you count each of the bi-fold doors, there were a total of 10 doors in 100 square feet! And that does not count the one leading into the toilet area!

Whole Pet Veterinary Care - Color for Cats & Dogs!

A little recap from last summer... My favorite, most colorful project with Pence NW Construction: Whole Pet Veterinary Care! And if you have a pet, this is the place to take it. New to town the owner / Veterinarian is wonderful. 

 

She was not afraid to use color in fact she wanted a lot and she wanted bold!

 

We started with a Sherwin Williams Lobilia in the reception and down the hall Notice the Window treatments that tie it all together.

 

The first exam room was Morning Sun SW 6672 for Bigger dogs to keep them calm...

 

Jonquil SW 6674 for smaller energetic animals, and Banana Cream SW 6673 for work area.

 

Celestial SW 6808 for Xray!

 

So Long Shadow 1004-3B for Operating... Warm and happy... 

 

As you can see from this angle, getting most of the different colors, It Works!

 

When it comes to color you can use a lot of it as long as it flows together.

Fidelity - A Tenant improvement

Another Project is almost completed by Pence NW Construction. The owners of this building have asked them to remodel this space for another Tenant.  New layout, carpet, paint, lighting... the list goes on. This will be the entrance with a window that still needs to be installed, owners sometimes like to make a few changes along the way. 

Original carpet chosen had dye-lot issues and the owners had to make another selection along with slightly different color palate. It's fabulous when a tenant will be flexible and as someone mentioned they liked their second choice even more! There are so many wonderful selections out there... It's hard to go wrong, a good  Designer has more than one palate of colors they work with. 

 

In a few short days this space will be ready for the new tenants to move in.

 

Hang a few doors, install a bit more carpet & base, and yes there's some clean up!

If you're a runner or walker in Salem then chances are you know Gallagher Fitness Resources.  It's the place to go for walking & running shoes, they have a full line of apparel, accessories, clinics and more. Best of all they have Great Staff! They are a great reason to support LOCAL!

But let's talk DESIGN!

A Remodel

This was one of my first remodeling project I worked on, it was before a got a decent camera so pardon the photos. This bathroom was very dark and dated...

 

What a difference the White Cabinets make! It brightens the room and I love the contrast with the Absolute Noir Countertop from CaesarStone.
