We were at Joshua Tree National Park...
And it was absolutely gorgeous! While we've been back two weeks now, I've been busy with Spring time activities. I hope to get back to posting fun things soon!
Bambi was out on a little adventure...

Camping in the rain... as my honey says "it's never that bad". Well he's right...
And rain makes great puddles for a "puddle walk"!
You hear about those warm days at the beach in the middle of winter, but it's rare when you actually enjoy it. But today we're here, tucked into our favorite space...
We've been for a nice long walk... and snapped a few photos...
crossed a little stream... without getting wet...
enjoyed a picnic lunch...
watched some crazy kids play in the surf...
and while it's really not this warm (we must have the thermometer placed where it's getting maximum sunshine)...
We're enjoying every minute of sunshine!

We took off Friday evening and headed 35 miles North to Champoeg State Park with Bambi in tow. A quick little getaway, to relax for the weekend.

The fog created a mystical atmosphere in which to explore...
There are markers, where there used to be streets; and also paths and beautiful grounds to wander...
We drove around the nearby Butte and noticed all the cars at the Visitors Center, a place we would visit if we were out of towners! We are so fortunate to have such a lovely place so close to home and we sometimes just take it for granted.
We were also a short drive to Portland so drove up there to check on Mom's place. She had the misfortune to soak her beans on a hot stovetop (she didn't realize it was on). Coming home several hours later her place was filled with smoke! The beans had burnt themselves to the pan instead of just soaking them! So fortunate she didn't burn the place down, but unfortunately her place smells of smoke. The insurance adjuster comes tomorrow so we are hoping she can get everything cleaned and back to normal.... I think it's going to take a while!
If you have any suggestions on ridding a home of smoke we'd love to hear!
And while we take a weekend to relax, we also reflect on the hardships others must endure.

Life doesn't get much better than camping with Tuesday! We parked Bambi in our favorite spot at the beach and enjoyed every minute we had with her. She loved the snowflake that Grandpa hung outside the window. And walking where the waves wouldn't reach her!

Our adventures continue...
Determined to take Bambi out in the colder weather, we headed to the beach. Since the snow hadn't fallen to the 750' level we would be fine going over the pass.
Brent and Kat had told us about the Sea and Surf RV Park and it's every bit as fabulous as they said it was. Three tiers of fully equipped spaces line the beach. We tucked into the corner on the second tier for a bit of privacy and let's be honest for a bit of a buffer from the giant waves. Our view was amazing and the weather freezing! We are thankful for an extra little heater that kept us warm inside.
We worked on a little project; attaching a laminated counter to our existing space. We've been using this incredible little bit of counter but unfinished.
Since our space is limited, although well thought out, the extra space makes it so much easier to create fabulous meals!
Back to the weather... It is seriously cold! Last night it dipped to 31 degrees! And while my honey ventured out for a photo of the sunset, I choose to take it from the inside!
Our next big purchase for the Airstream will be an electric blanket and perhaps some kind of bumper that goes around the wall next to the bed; that is if we continue this cold weather camping!
