It's not often that I get a jump on my holiday crafting, but it's a mere 60 degrees and raining today so I figured it was a great day to stay inside and sew. Also, I love our new Stars and Stripes Jar and Ribbon Packs and wanted to play around with the ribbon inside. I headed to Greenbaums Quilted Forest yesterday to pick up red, white and blue fabric so I would be ready to create today.
I made an 8 X 9.5" pennant template and cut out fabric to randomly piece together.
While each pennant is different, I used a red and blue on every one. Then added a fun piece of ribbon on one side of each.
I wanted each pennant to be different to give character when tied together.
I'm not sure where I will hang this, but definitely outside if it's dry on the 4th of July...
And we'll bring the party inside if there's rain and hang it on the mantle.
I love the ribbon brought in especially for these jars and still have fabric left so I'll probably make a few more pennants to tie together. But I also may start a different project...
My creative juices are flowing...
