Sunday Creative... Aug 29 - Sept 4

This weeks word prompt at Madeline Bea is "Illuminate",,, while the quality isn't fabulous the "Ferris Wheel" is illuminated against the night sky at the Fair!

   

We'll be heading there again tomorrow night and I'll bring a "real" camera!

Julia & Julie @ Fair & Dierks Bentley Concert

Awhile ago Julia told me she "loved" Dierks Bentley... So with my honey running Hood to Coast and unable to go to the concert, I took Julia...  we had a Blast!

It's always fun going to a concert and Dierks Bentley is Great!

The Fair is the perfect venue and our seats were awesome:

   

 

Nothing quite like the Oregon State Fair...  

I only wish I had brought a camera instead of just my IPhone. But I'll be going again on Monday so I'll be sure to take lots more pictures of the fun stuff!

Sunday Creative... Aug 22 - 28

I knew right away what I would be using for Sunday Creative word prompt...

 "orient"

~verb: to adjust with relation to, or bring into due relation to surroundings, circumstances, facts, etc..

This photo brings back wonderful memories of a fabulous Road trip!

Bedroom Redo... Inspiration from the Garden!

Since my recent posts have been about gardening I thought it appropriate to share my inspiration for a bedroom redo; the trumpet flower:

Since I'm not afraid of color I chose the deepest part of the flower and went with Sherwin Williams SW 6606 Coral Reef:

The color is bold & fabulous! It's a bit overwhelming by itself, but with the white painted trim and wood doors it's awesome! I'm just sharing snippets of room until its accessorized:

It's a great improvement don't you think? 

Gardening....

I'm so fascinated with gardening.  I watch the tomatoes grow and hope they turn red so I'm not eating too many "fried green tomatoes"...

 

I wait for the edamame beans to get just a little bit bigger so we may enjoy them:

 

And I admire the perfect placement of a pumpkin, one that chose to grow where I could appreciate it just by glancing out my back door:

 

A passion for gardening...

Cabernet...

Seriously... I've done everything I can think of to stimulate these grapes:

 and this is what I get... my expectation of them producing a bottle of wine is nil! It's a good thing the plants are so lovely or they would have been ripped out years ago!

Root Veggies....

Probably not quite time to harvest the root vegetables, but I couldn't help myself, I wanted to see the beautiful color growing under the soil.  I found these gorgeous "Red" potatoes:

 

And these "Colorful" beets... albeit small:

 

 and filled the basket for something delightful for dinner: 

I'm sure I'll make something wonderful... I'll just have to decide whether or not to use a cookbook!
 

Sunday Creative... Aug 15 - 21

Over at Madeline Bea this weeks word prompt for Sunday Creative is "Ethereal"...  while I came up with something that somewhat resembles "delicate, airy & dainty"

 I realize that "Ethereal" does not describe my style photography, and I definitely need to broaden my scope of work!

This was taken on our last Road Trip... somewhere through Big Sur!

Taking the Road Less Traveled...

 

It's that time of year when we start thinking about traveling again. We love our Road Trips but have been contemplating a cruise... visiting the New England States & Canada. It would be a wonderful way to experience many areas without all the driving; we've gotten a bit carried away on our last trips.  We love taking the road less traveled and yet want a relaxing vacation... 

Any thoughts on the cruise?  or traveling the New England States...

The Perfect Summer Meal...

I have quite a few cookbooks which I use for inspiration... but it's alway fun to put a spin on any recipe, if nothing else it makes it "your own". Such is the Tuscan White Bean Salad with Spinach Olives and Sun-Dried Tomatoes out of Foster's Market Cookbook.

By adding Pasta, peppercini, celery, fresh parsley, green & red peppers... it's delicious and I enough to serve a crowd! Serving this with Rosemary Flatbread from Cascade Bakery made a perfectly light summer meal!
