Road Trip... Part 2

We really love our Road Trips and have found that to really appreciate them, you must get out of the car and explore.  There's nothing better than walking where the locals do and reflecting as we walk through the forests and hiking beautiful trails. So we do a lot of hiking, walking through neighborhoods and....

 

yes we do a bit of shopping. Now I'm not into the big name stores but I do like to see what the local merchant is selling. 

So my honey asks "is 30 minutes is enough" for the parking meter in San Luis Obispo.... 

I was sure he wasn't serious so I said in the sweetest voice possible "Are you kidding me"!

I mean how many of you can get a cup of coffee, explore the town and have lunch in 30 minutes? Not this woman!

Had I not voiced my opinion in a loving manner we never would have discovered this wonderful little shop:

 

This woman had the most amazing spices!

 

I will definitely be calling her for more curry!

A side note: We had the most delightful lunch at Vrasha's... But that's another story!

2643 Mile Road Trip...

   The long and winding roads and the weather we encountered...

 

Through the Redwoods, Down the Coast, In the Wine Country, Up Death Valley, Over to Reno and other stops along the way!

 

It was a fabulous trip... with lots more to share! 

One Reason to Come Home!

A Fabulous Colorful Painting!

Love this painting....

Paula found it on Etsy.... I have no information on artist but wanted to share something colorful today! Perhaps she'll comment on it.

 

Looks like the candles are more in focus... but you get the idea!

Designing with Ric Rac

If you haven't been over to Ribbon Jar lately, you really must check out Amber's new selection of Ric Rac! I used the Chestnut to embellish the Valences made for the Nursery I'm designing.

   

I spaced the three rows of ric rac 3" apart, marked by a fabric pencil.

 

This ric rac is wonderful to sew on fabric!

 

Still need to hand the curtain rods, but you get the idea!

 

Ribbon Jar has a wonderful selection of yummy, colorful ribbon!

I stumbled across this old photo the other day and decided I had better do a photo shoot and all the accomplishments Brent & Kat  have made on their home!

Arlene's Fabulous Yard!

Back to the front for a sneak of her pond (she moved it from the back yard to the front yard... seriously who does that at... how old are you again?)

 

As always her home is just as beautiful outside as it is inside!

I promised some photos of Paula's Kitchen after the remodel a few days ago and well I've been busy other projects...
