Our Playroom has never been the most functional, the angles of the walls make it difficult for furniture layout. And the openness of room make it challenging to hide cables and such behind the TV. So we have decided to add some walls. First of all we added a partial wall behind the TV:
And we added walls to the angled craft area to make it more functional. Before the wall came over the top of the work area:
With the new wall I will have not only have more work area, but an area which hides behind another partial wall should I want to keep a cluttered desk. My work table will fit into this new area:
There's plenty to do to make this all come together so I thought I should start painting today, after all I wanted to participate in "The Power of Paint Party" over at Domestically Speaking. Maryann hosts a great party!
Choosing a color proved to be a bit of a challenge. I had to keep the wall from the stairs the same as there is no break and it goes downstairs to the entry. Using just 50% of the color had to much red undertones, so I ended up with Echelon Ecru from Sherwin Williams .
Not only do the angles in this room make painting difficult, but also painting around the beam (I should probably prime and paint over it).
I tried everything to get in that corner but the sofa was in the way.
I was able to get this wall mostly done and the electrician came and moved some wires for us. All of this:
Now will be hidden from view when you come up the stairs.
I'm hoping I will have lots more to share at next weeks Paint Party.
