A couple of evenings ago I decided to try making Marshmallows from this book. It looks easy enough so why not give it a try! My biggest concern was the time commitment of 2 hours. With 1 Nyquil tab in me it would be a fight to stay awake and see it through!
As you may know by now I typically don't follow directions very well, but with this recipe I decided I had better follow it exactly! So I laid out the ingredients and prepared the dish and started boiling the sugars and water...
Probably should have started with a bigger pan as before I knew it it had boiled over... Yes that would be a sticky mess to clean up later!
Next the syrup goes into the Kitchen Aid for a bit of whipping, whipping and more whipping... 10 Minutes!
Before you know it, it's wonderfully white & sticky!
After letting it sit in the dish for about an hour I cut it with a wet knife and rolled it in Powdered Sugar.
I tasted it before going to bed and thought to myself... What a waste of time... Tooo Much Sweetness! But the next morning after the Marshmallows had a bit of time to jell and the flavors meld together all I can say is... DELICIOUS! These will be paired with a really good hot chocolate mix!
PS... My kitchen is still sticky!
